David Moorcroft – UK Chairman
David has extensive experience in athletics, spanning over 40 years from the track to the boardroom. He has won numerous gold medals in the 1500m and 5000m, worked for BBC Television reporting on Athletics for almost 15 years and was Chief Executive of UK Athletics for 10 years.
Under his leadership, he rebuilt the federation financially and on his departure UK Athletics’ turnover was over £18m per annum.
David has developed the Coventry Sports Foundation for which he was Chief Executive and still remains a Trustee. He was awarded an MBE and an OBE for services to British sport. He is still the UK record holder for the 3000m and 5000m.
Mark McCafferty - Non-Executive Deputy Chairman
Mark has over 20 years’ leadership experience with major consumer brands as a Chief Executive or Non-Executive board director. He qualified post-university in international banking with Midland and later joined Thomas Cook, firstly to head up their North American businesses for 7 years in Toronto, and then to run the global travel businesses from London.
He was CEO of Avis Europe plc for 6 years until 2003 and was until recently a non-executive board director at both HMV Group plc and Umbro plc.
Mark is currently Chief Executive of Premier Rugby Ltd, the company which represents the Premiership professional rugby union clubs in England.
Peter Cheese - Non Executive Director
Peter has just recently retired from a 30 year career at Accenture, the global consulting and services business, where he was managing director responsible for all of Accenture’s consulting business in HR, talent management.
Peter has extensive experience as a business consultant helping organisations define strategy and lead major change programs. He has experience across all areas of business, but in particular in technology, operations, and HR.
Paul Tomlin - Group Chief Executive Officer
Paul was General Manager of Avis Futures, leading a multi-million dollar international project that introduced the latest web services technology to Cendant Car Rental Group and Avis. He was CEO of YourAutoChoice.com and has served as CIO of Avis Europe.
He was the Executive Director of Technology and Distribution for Eurostar UK Limited and was also CIO for Virgin Atlantic Airways. Paul started his career by joining British Airways as a general management graduate trainee where he worked in a variety of departments.
Previously Paul has also been a local councillor for Chiswick, West London and a Parliamentary Research Assistant.
